The 2016 Hyundai Tucson was recognized with the International Family Vehicle of the Year Award by Road & Travel Magazine at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. Autonomous (aka ‘piloted’) car tech is certainly the talk of the automotive industry lately. Whether we want it or not, at least some advanced form of self-piloting car tech is on the way. Hyundai has now stated that it also plans to throw its hat in the autonomous driving ring for the near future.

According to Automotive News, Hyundai aims to have a car with autonomous driving capabilities  ready by 2020, in an attempt to catch up with other automakers and their tech.

Fountain Valley, Calif., Jan. 5, 2014 – Hyundai Motor America today announced a record December sales month of 64,507 units, up two percent versus the record-setting period in 2013. 

This is the fifth consecutive year of record U.S. sales up over the previous year and totaling 725,718.
