Hyundai has added features and restyled its Tucson compact crossover, which it hopes to make a larger player in a growing but highly competitive segment.

It is being officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show.

The biggest visible change is in the nose of the SUV, which has a new hexagonal grille, LED running lights and projector headlights. Also improving the looks — not to mention the comfort — are the Tucson's new dimensions: It's 30inches longer and about an inch wider. Autonomous (aka ‘piloted’) car tech is certainly the talk of the automotive industry lately. Whether we want it or not, at least some advanced form of self-piloting car tech is on the way. Hyundai has now stated that it also plans to throw its hat in the autonomous driving ring for the near future.
