2016 Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle

DETROIT, Jan. 12, 2015 – Hyundai launched its first plug-in hybrid vehicle today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is expected to travel up to 22 miles on electric power and can recharge in as little as two and a half hours with a Level 2 charger. Sonata Plug-in Hybrid will be built at the Asan, South Korea plant and will go on sale in select markets later this year.

2016 Sonata Hybrid Introduced

DETROIT, Jan. 12, 2015 – Today Hyundai introduced the Hybrid version of its award-winning seventh-generation Sonata at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Sonata Hybrid continues to visually differentiate itself from other Sonata models with purposefully unique wheels and front and rear fascias that improve aerodynamics while highlighting Sonata Hybrid’s advanced technology and efficiency. The 2016 Sonata Hybrid fuel economy is expected to improve more than 10 percent. Sonata Hybrid will be built at Hyundai’s Asan, South Korea assembly plant and will go on sale early this summer.

HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA REPORTS BEST YEAR AND DECEMBER EVER

Fountain Valley, Calif., Jan. 5, 2014 – Hyundai Motor America today announced a record December sales month of 64,507 units, up two percent versus the record-setting period in 2013. 

This is the fifth consecutive year of record U.S. sales up over the previous year and totaling 725,718.
